Gym Progress!
Things are finally moving along again. We were very stalled for a while and it was starting to really stress me out, who am I kidding, I was really stressed about the dates moving forward!! Some things are out of my control and I just have to try and be patient but I am thrilled to announce that the builders should be back on Monday and walls should be going up again! The next 2 weeks things should move quickly but there is no chance we will be in the new space before September 1. I am hoping, praying, shooting for that date! Know that we are doing everything possible to keep things moving and on time so we get the fastest turn around once I get keys officially.

I hope you all saw my post introducing Ben as one of our new coaches. We are excited to have him join our family. I hope you come to one of his classes during the evening, he is an awesome coach! I know you will enjoy his style, knowledge and demeanour!

Coach Bill recently got his USAW Sports and Conditioning Certification and we are going to put it to good use by starting an Olympic Lifting Only class. Until we get more space and get in the new gym, we will have this class every Saturday at 10:30 am. After we get in the new gym, we will add a Tuesday evening timeslot at 6:30pm along with the Saturday class. This class will be limited to 6 people only so you will get very individual attention in your lifts. The expectation is that you will come every week and the programming will be tailored for Snatches and Clean & Jerks being the focus. This is not for beginners but rather for people looking to take their lifts to the next level and/or looking to seriously improve their olympic lifting. The class will be 1-1.5 hour in length and focus will be lifting and strength (not WODing). Because of the specialized nature of the class and program, there will be an additional charge per month of $10. You must sign up for the first class of each month (every 4 weeks), schedule is available online here, and the first class starts on August 15, 2015: http://crossfittidewater.net/wp/schedule-2/

Surprise WOD week is over and this week we enter into 1RM week for our lifts. We’ll be starting the next cycle with Front Squats and Push Presses instead of back squats and strict press. So this week we be 1RM on the Front Squat and Push Press, along with Deads and Bench. We won’t have time with larger classes to do back and front squat but rest assured your squat has improved since last test because we have been squatting a lot! 😉

Rest up this weekend and get ready to get some PRs on the board this week. I can’t wait to see what you all can do! So exciting …

Coach Shari
